This site collects the bare minimum. It uses no cookies, no audience measurement and no advertising trackers.

Controller

Balays Avocat, avenue de la Gare 5, case postale 81, 1951 Sion, is the controller of the processing described below within the meaning of the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP).

Data you send us

The contact form collects your name, your email address, your telephone number where given, and the text of your message. This data is used solely to answer your enquiry and, where appropriate, to arrange an appointment. It is neither sold nor passed on to third parties for commercial purposes.

Data collected automatically

The hosting provider records, as any web server does, connection logs: IP address, date and time, page visited, browser used. These logs serve the security and technical operation of the site. They are kept for a limited period and then deleted.

Typefaces

The typefaces are installed on the site's own server and served from it. Displaying them calls on no third-party service: no data concerning you leaves the Swiss hosting on that account.

Hosting

The site is hosted by INFOMANIAK NETWORK SA in Geneva. The data remains on servers located in Switzerland.

Retention

Messages received through the form are kept for as long as handling the enquiry requires. Where an enquiry leads to no mandate, the message is deleted within a reasonable time. Where a mandate is accepted, the data joins the file and follows the retention rules of the legal profession.

Professional secrecy

Lawyers are bound by professional secrecy (art. 13 LLCA and art. 321 of the Swiss Criminal Code). That secrecy covers the information you entrust to us, including before any mandate. It prevails over the foregoing.

The form on this site is not, however, an end-to-end encrypted channel. Do not send documents or highly sensitive details through it: set out the situation in a few lines, and the rest can be said at the meeting.

Your rights

You may request access to your data, its correction or its deletion, and object to its processing (art. 25 et seq. FADP). Requests can be made through the contact form or by post to the address above. These rights may be limited where professional secrecy or a statutory retention duty stands in the way.

You may also refer the matter to the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner.

Security

The site is served over an encrypted connection. The form is protected against automated submissions and messages travel over an authenticated link.

Changes

This notice may be amended. The version published on this page is the one that applies.
